Every therapist claims to work one on one and then leaves you playing with rubber bands while a kitchen timer ticks. That's not how I want to be cared for and not how I care for my folks.
My journey started in Stow, Ohio. Growing up in a small city, playing sports with my brothers and eventually falling in love with the sport of volleyball in high school. Then it was off to The Ohio State University on a full athletic scholarship!! Excellence isn't a habit it is a lifestyle. It has been my experience who you are on the athletic court is who you are off of it. I earned All Big Ten Honors in Volleyball for The Ohio Sate University, an Athlete of the Decade for the Big Ten Conference, and it was a GREAT honor to be in the second class of women to be inducted into The Ohio State Athletic Hall of Fame!
Was quite the surprise when I came USC to be an assistant coach. OMG....they said GO COCKS! That took a bit of getting use to. In the five years I was coaching, I earned 2 Masters and began playing pro-am grass and professional beach volleyball.
What an unbelievable experience I had traveling all over the United States and one International tournament playing on the then Women's Professional Volleyball Association Tour, but also the Bud Light, Jose Quervo, and Captain Morgan's Tours. During this time I also was featured in a 'Piggly Wiggly" grocery store commercial in Charelston and a Coors Red Commercial in Texas- they filmed us players line dancing with some cowboys! What FUN!!!
After many years of participating and/ or coaching volleyball my body told me its time for a new adventure. I always was interested in becoming a Physical Therapist, so now was that time. Applied, moved and 3 more years of college education....at least it was in Charleston, SC! I could still play volleyball!!!
I have been practicing in Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapy Rehabilitation in Savannah and Pooler for the past 23 years. Now I have opened my own clinic in Richmond Hill, GA.
